Harper Lee Harper Lee , known as Nelle , was born in Alabama town of Monroeville on April 28 1926 . she is the youngest of four children in the family . Harper Lee was a tomboy and a precocious reader . She enjoyed the friendship of her schoolmate and neighbour, Truman Capote .
Harper Lee graduated from high school, enrolled at an all-female college and then pursued a law degree at a university . he wrote for several student publications and spent a year as editor of the campus humor magazine .
The character, the tomboy Scout , was created in a way it represent Harper Lee. The story includes a legal case , same as what Harper Lee who studied law. Dill have been inspired by Lee’s childhood friend.
